The amount of investment in the region has not been proportional to the amount of revenue generated, but that’s not the bane of the issue. The environment has so degraded that livelihood for the inhabitants has been seriously challenged and limited. The government and development partners are trying to remedy the amount of degradation and effects of oil spills in this region but what is the current situation now? What strategy is being adopted? How inclusive is the strategy and how effective has it been so far?
